Deland Monster

Yet another tale from our lake. I went outside this evening and looked at the lake. I was really freaked out when I saw on the water a long neck about a foot long with a pointy bill. It kept moving and I watched to see if a body would appear but one didn’t. As a matter of fact the strange thing ducked below the water and dis-appeared. Poof, gone, bye-bye.

Now I was really freaked because it never came back up.

After a few moments of pondering what I saw I seen one of those Florida cormorants walk into the water and proceed to sink down until only the neck and head was exposed.  I couldn’t believe it really. I’ve seen them all over around bodies of water just never seen one swimming.
