Scammers

So I was at work last night and we had this horrible woman at a table.  She came in with her husband and 4 kids.  She ordered a caesar salad and when it was brought out to her she wanted to share it with her kids so it was too small.  She then ordered mahi mahi and unfortunately it was raw in the middle.  Yes this is very bad so I went to the table to apologize and see what I could do to make it better.  She was immediately rude and started asking for free stuff.  She asked for potstickers and I again apologized and said I would be back with them in 2 minutes.  I took them out to her and she was complaining that her kids were already done eating and again I apologized.  A few minutes later her server came in and said she got the wrong item she wanted chicken potstickers.  The other manager working went to the table and the woman said she got the pork instead of the chicken and she wasn’t paying for the pork and she still wanted the chicken.  Needless to say she had already devoured the pork ones.  So we got the ckicken ones out to her and she gobbled them up as well.  Her mahi mahi was cooked to perfection and went out to her.  Fine.  Her server then came back and said she didn’t like the cup of coffee and she wanted it taken off her check even though she had drank 3/4 of it.  So we took off 2 appetizers and a cup of coffee plus we took off another $5 for a coupon, printed the check and her server gave it to her.  She then asked for a calculator because it wasn’t adding up right.  She wanted to see the manager because she didn’t understand her check.  The server was frustrated and so was I.  I knew if I went to speak with her I would more than likely lose it.  I just wanted her out of my restaurant.

So to all those people out there that just want to get free food……there’s a nice dumpster behind every mcdonalds and burger king.  Go eat there.  We work for a living.  Our servers bust the butts for all our guests, and when they get scammers who sit and complain for an hour and a half and get most of their checks taken off so they will leave happy, and then leave them a measly tip…… it just makes me very unhappy.
