Big Bird attacked me

The funniest thing happened today, although really scary at first though.

I stepped out back to smoke a cigarette and noticed one of the red headed cranes walking from the lake to the little pond next to it. So I walked further out into our back yard to watch it. The crane also noticed me and started my way as well. Now I had a situation.

The crane actually came into our yard and backed me up to the porch where the only thing I could do was back-up to the sliding glass door. The crane came within five feet of me and started squaking and shaking. This crane stood about four feet tall with a really long bill.

I keep tapping the glass hoping the kids would hear but of course they didn’t. I made a quick move and slid open the door and jumped inside and luckly the crane didn’t follow. After a minute or so it turned and proceeded back to the lake. I wish I had my camera during this.
